The "2007 Green Paper of Population and Labor," published by Chinese
Academy of Social Sciences, shows that, based on systematic investigation
of the fixed tracking observation points of China's villages, from 2003
to 2006, the average monthly wage of China's migrant worker continued to
grow, and growth has increased more rapidly year after year.

Research shows that from 2003 to 2006, the average monthly wage of the
migrant workers, who produced and conducted business outside their home
village, increased from 781 Yuan to 953 Yuan, up 22 percent.

Compared with last year, a migrant worker's average monthly wage
increased by 2.8 percent in 2004, by 6.5 percent in 2005, and by 11.5
percent in 2006; the growth rate has quickened year after year.

The Green Paper also noted that male migrant workers wages grew faster
than that of female migrant workers. From 2003 to 2006, a male migrant
workers' wage increased by 22.5 percent, and the growth rate was 0.6
percentage points higher than the female migrant workers'. The wages of
migrant workers who once received vocational and technical training has
increased faster, from 2003 to 2006. The wages of migrant workers who
once received the vocational and technical training have increased by
28.8 percent. The growth rate was 8.7 percentage points higher than that
of the migrant workers who did not receive vocational and technical
training.
