Consumption an impetus of economic growth in 2005
www.chinanews.cn 2005-02-02 15:59:04
On February 1st, 2005, authoritative sources from the State Statistics
Bureau predicted that the total retail sales of consumer goods this year
would be over six trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13%. Thus
consumption would likely be an impetus of China's economic growth in
2005. Last year, China's total retail sales of consumer goods totaled
5.39501 trillion yuan, up 13.3% year-on-year. The picture shows China's
consumption market for family cars that is growing tremendously.
